Crested Butte Summer

Designated the Wildflower Capital of Colorado in 1990 by the State Legislature, Crested Butte’s mountainside comes alive with color in summer. It’s also considered one of the birthplaces of Colorado mountain biking and provides some of the most dramatic mountain landscape in which to enjoy your favorite outdoor activity.

Hike or bike among the wildflowers on trails designed for all ability levels, including a paved bike path connecting Mount Crested Butte with the Town of Crested Butte.  Enjoy climbing, horseback riding, camping, rock climbing, golf, scenic drives, and boating either in town or at the nearby Blue Mesa Reservoir, Curecanti National Recreation, and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.  Water aficionados can fly-fish, kayak and raft on the Taylor and Gunnison Rivers.
