Durango Summer

Summer

Like many Colorado towns, Durango is a year-round playground. In spring and summer, hike through colorful fields of Colorado wildflowers, mountain bike endless miles of trails or raft the waters of the Animas River. Go horseback riding near the lake, explore one of the several scenic byways or take in an outdoor concert. You can also enjoy a leisurely sailboat ride on Vallecito Lake or rejuvenate yourself in the therapeutic waters of Durango’s mineral hot springs. If you’re feeling more adventurous take hot-air balloon ride or jeep tour of the San Juan Mountains. The ski resort is open in summer as well, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy scenic chairlift rides, to mountain biking, hiking, an alpine slide, climbing wall, and outdoor concerts.
